Wild Bush Luxury

Be players in the drama of the bush, not just spectators at the show

Wild Bush Luxury

Wild Bush Luxury is a term we coined for a certain style of travel "off the beaten track" and it is all about the experience.
The accommodation is not designed to conform to a checklist of 5 star standards, but it is innovative, locally inspired and hosted with true Australian style (and a good dash of humour). You will eat and sleep exceptionally well and your guides will introduce you to some wild and truly beautiful places.

Wild Bush Luxury on the Kimberley Coast offers the traveller a chance to really get away from it all – access is by air only and whilst the accommodation is simple, a fresh approach and the sheer luxury of space and isolation win over the most jaded travellers!   These camps provide some of the best fishing in Australia and much, much more - spectacular scenery, freshwater swimming holes, Aboriginal art, marine and land based wildlife, towering waterfalls, bush walking & boating, fabulous food including your catch and time for relaxation.

Bamurru Plains is the place where the phrase Wild Bush Luxury was coined!  Located on the Mary River floodplain, the camp is just 20 minutes charter flight from Darwin. Here the activities focus strongly on the flora and fauna of the area and include air boating on the wetlands, guided game viewing drives and walks as well as crocodile spotting on the nearby Sampan River.   Each of the nine safari bungalows has an en suite bathroom and a deck overlooking the flood plains.  Walls are airy screens, admitting refreshing breezes.   An expert chef prepares meals peppered with local ingredients … lunch may be a poolside BBQ and dinner is shared around the dining table with your travelling companions and guides.

Not strictly limited to the north Wild Bush Luxury can be experienced just an hour out of Sydney. Helicopter into the southern Blue Mountains where Mark Tickner hosts Swagging in Style!  Activities are tailored to your interests: try your hand at fly-fishing; canoeing; or a bit of bushwalking. The area is rich in wildlife and likely sightings are kangaroos, wombats and, if you are lucky, platypus. In the evening Mark cooks up a delicious BBQ dinner, opens a bottle of good wine and after time spent around the campfire you fall into one of our deluxe swags for a night under the stars!
