Rainforest Wildlife Whisperer - Queensland

David Armbrust offers an enchanting day out in the rainforest of Far North Queensland where you will gain an understanding of the eco-system and the flora and fauna that abounds here.

As Ferry Master on the Daintree River in 1979, David had unique access to the Daintree National Park and Cape Tribulation rainforest.  This led to becoming a naturalist guide operating a cruise boat on the river and then working with Silky Oaks Lodge conducting four wheel drive safaris into the Wet Tropics of Far North Queensland.

Today David and his wife Diane have their own company and provide a limited number of clients with a quality ecotourism experience.  More than twenty five years in nature-based tourism and a lifetime in this area have provided the Armbrusts with a wealth of knowledge and experience in local eco-systems and wildlife; both have a strong nature conservation ethic.  Their ecotourism venture is used by the Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service as an example to landholders on the possible alternative uses of the natural resources of their land.

David offers half day and full day tours with transfers in the Port Douglas area. The group size is limited to four guests and, if you prefer, you may book the tour to operate exclusively for you.  The morning will be spent at Thyogale, David's private rainforest sanctuary and nature refuge.  Those on the full day tour will then travel with him through a variety of eco-systems that fringe the Great Dividing Range.  This is an educational, interesting and fun day. David is a great fellow and hugely knowledgeable.
